Accessibility Statement
Our commitment to an accessible digital experience for all users.
1. Our Commitment to Accessibility
MT Construction LLC is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all people, including those with visual, auditory, cognitive, or motor disabilities. We believe that every person has the right to access information and services on the internet, regardless of ability.
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities. Conformance with these guidelines helps make the web more usable for all users.
Target Conformance: WCAG 2.1 Level AA
This website is designed and developed with WCAG 2.1 Level AA as our standard. We continuously review and improve accessibility as part of our ongoing development process. This is a current status statement — we are actively working toward full conformance and welcome feedback.
2. Accessibility Features on This Website
We have implemented the following accessibility features to improve usability for all visitors:
-
Semantic HTML5 structure — Content uses appropriate heading hierarchies (H1 through H3), landmark regions (
<nav>,<main>,<footer>), and semantic elements (<article>,<section>,<address>) to communicate document structure to assistive technologies. - Skip to main content link — A "Skip to main content" link is the first focusable element on every page, allowing keyboard and screen reader users to bypass the navigation and jump directly to page content.
-
ARIA labels and roles — Interactive components, navigation regions, and landmark elements include appropriate ARIA labels (
aria-label,aria-expanded,aria-current,aria-hidden) to provide context for screen reader users. - Full keyboard navigation — All interactive elements — links, buttons, form inputs, and dropdowns — are reachable and operable using only a keyboard. Tab order follows a logical reading sequence.
-
Visible focus indicators — Every focusable element displays a visible focus ring on keyboard focus (
:focus-visible), styled with a 2px solid accent-color outline at 2px offset. Focus rings are never removed or suppressed for mouse-only interactions. - WCAG AA color contrast — Body text achieves a minimum 4.5:1 contrast ratio against its background. Large text (18pt / 14pt bold and above) meets the 3:1 minimum. Brand color pairings have been verified against WCAG AA contrast requirements.
-
Descriptive image alt text — All meaningful images include descriptive
altattributes that convey the content and function of the image. Decorative images usealt=""to be ignored by screen readers. All images include explicitwidthandheightattributes to prevent layout shift. - 200% text zoom support — The website layout is responsive and remains readable and functional when browser text size is increased to 200% without horizontal scrolling or loss of content.
-
Reduced motion support — Users who have enabled "Reduce Motion" in their operating system preferences will have all CSS animations and transitions disabled, as implemented via the
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query. No animation is essential for understanding page content. -
Associated form labels — Every form input has a programmatically associated
<label>element. Our floating label pattern maintains label association even when labels animate to a reduced-size position above the input. - Descriptive error messages — Form validation errors are communicated in text adjacent to the relevant input field, not by color alone. Required fields are identified both visually and programmatically.
3. Known Limitations
While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, some content may not meet all guidelines:
Third-party content: Some functionality is provided by third-party services outside our direct control, including:
- Google Maps embeds — Interactive maps may not be fully operable via keyboard or screen reader. We provide our address in text form as an accessible alternative.
- Review carousel widgets — Third-party review display widgets may have limited accessibility support. We provide key testimonial content in static text form where possible.
- CDN-delivered fonts and icons — Decorative icons loaded from Lucide CDN are marked
aria-hidden="true"and do not carry accessible meaning on their own.
We are committed to addressing limitations as they are identified and as technology and third-party providers improve their accessibility support.
4. Feedback and Reporting Issues
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of our website. If you experience any barriers, encounter content that is not accessible, or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us. We take all accessibility reports seriously and aim to respond within 5 business days.

5. Legal Standards and Enforcement
This accessibility statement is provided in accordance with the following laws and standards:
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title III — The ADA prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in places of public accommodation, which federal courts have increasingly interpreted to include websites operated by businesses open to the public.
- Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act — Requires electronic and information technology developed or used by federal agencies to be accessible. We adopt Section 508 standards as a best practice.
- Virginia law — We are organized under the laws of Virginia and comply with Virginia's applicable disability rights requirements for our business operations.
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 — We use WCAG 2.1 Level AA as our technical standard for measuring and achieving digital accessibility.
If you believe that we have failed to adequately respond to your accessibility feedback, or if you require an accessible alternative format of any content on this website, please contact us directly using the information above. We are committed to finding an effective solution.
6. Our Ongoing Accessibility Efforts
Digital accessibility is an ongoing commitment, not a one-time project. We continuously work to improve the accessibility of this website through:
- Regular review of new content and features against WCAG 2.1 Level AA criteria
- Testing with keyboard-only navigation on major browsers
- Manual testing with screen reader software
- Using automated accessibility audit tools as part of our development workflow
- Training our web development partners on accessible design and development practices
